Sani Lodge is a traditional and simple lodge that is remotely located in the Ecuadorian Amazon within over 100,000 acres of pristine and protected jungle.
The Details - Sani Lodge
At Sani Lodge there are 10 wooden constructions with thatched roofs catering for a maximum of 40 people. Rooms are basic and typical of all the lodges that you will find in any Amazonian region of The Amazon. At Sani Lodge all rooms are en suite and have a little hammock on each porch. They are more than comfortable, and more than adequate as a place to fall asleep listening to the sounds of the forest at night.
This lodge is located deep in a conservation area of lowland rainforest. It is a haven for wildlife. One of the main draws of the area are the vast amount of birds spotted in this region; with over 570 recorded species, ranging from The Harpy Eagle to toucans, it is an easy place for a complete novice birder to get enthused about the art of birding.
What to do at Sani Lodge
All excursions are included while at the lodge, and they tend to have a wildlife element to them. You can select from a variety of excursions offered by the expert naturalist guides. One day you might canoe down the waterways in search of Pink River Dolphins or visit a clay lick, with masses of Parrots feasting. Another fantastic option is to visit the local community and learn more about the under threat lives of the indigenous communities.
