Pacuare Lodge offers guests that stay in the 20 rooms (see below for room details) a bespoke and sustainable rainforest experience whilst being based in an almost pristine area of protected tropical forest. The jungle is home to the Cabecar Tribe, and a huge amount of wildlife that continues to flourish without development or destructive human interference in the region.
The main lodge has been constructed out of sustainably sourced teak that has been treated to increase the longevity of it. The main building is solar powered and has intermittent WIFI during the day, ample hammocks to swing in and areas to sit. At night the lodge becomes very atmospheric as oil lanterns light it up. You will also find a gorgeous infinity pool (see picture above) which has a refreshing temperature of 26 degrees year round.
You access and depart the lodge by 4 x 4 cars, or the more popular choice, rafting in with their expert guides. Whilst at the lodge there are a number of different and varied excursions included in your stay. They include
-Rainforest trekking to the Cabecar Indigenous tribe
-Canyoning (abseiling down waterfalls)
-Zip wires through the canopy
-Early morning and dawn birding trails
-Multiple different nature trails, some ending at the waterfall natural pool
-Sustainability and agricultural tour
There are 20 very well designed rooms and suites that are dotted around the property within a short walk to the main building. There are five rooms categories, all with a similar style but differ in size, layout, facilities and proximity to the main building. The categories are:
River Suites
This is the entry level suite that has one king size bed, a private terrace, an indoor and outdoor shower with panoramic views around the jungle. Approximate size is 670 sq ft/62 sq. metres
River View Deluxe
Similar to the River Suites but with direct views of Pacuare River. These rooms are larger and a little more secluded on the property than the River Suites. Approximate size 979 sq ft/ 91 sq metres
Linda Vista Suites
Perched higher on the gorge thee spacious rooms have sweeping views of the rainforest and the river. They also have a living space with large outdoor terraces complete with hammocks to enjoy the breeze and views. Approximate size is 230 sq m.
Canopy Suites
A private bungalow accessed by a private suspension bride. This luxurious and spacious bungalow with gorgeous views has a refreshing spring fed pool and offers a lot of privacy.
Jaguar Villa
The largest of all the bungalows that is located next to the Pacuare River. This extremely spacious option has ample living space, a beautiful pool, a large bedroom with the option of adding additional beds. Approximate size id 350 sq metres/3767 sq ft.
