Awasi Atacama is a luxurious lodge that is centrally located in San Pedro de Atacama. Like all Awasi properties, fantastic customer service, private guided experiences and luxurious quality are very much the philosophy.
This adobe constructed hotel has a super friendly feel – it is a wonderful place to relax by the pool or by the fire pit as you observe the stars whilst sipping a deluxe hot chocolate to fight off the cold.
With its private patios and tall trees for shade, it is a very comfortable place to base yourself and soak in the world's clearest skies. The suites themselves are inspired by pre-Inca ruins - they have thatched roofs, huge bathrooms and private solariums and also refreshing al-fresco showers.
We love everything about all of the Awasi properties as they do not leave a stone unturned are always striving for excellence and looking at ways to improve. This is a fantastic property, but for light sleepers then I would consider a lodge located outside of the town as being so close to the main village means that it is not a quiet place (relatively speaking).
The small, homely lodge has an in house expert guiding team that will tailor a unique and varied itinerary for you. Go horse riding, explore valleys, geysers, canyons, petroglyphs, huge cacti, Flamingos, foxes and more - the difference here is that you can stop as long as you like and go as far as you like without inconveniencing others in the luxury of your private vehicle.
