Libertador is a more than adequate hotel which resembles Tracy Island from Thunderbirds. This white structure is perched on a private peninsula and all the rooms have views out over the lake.
The unique location on the causeway to the shores of Lake Titicaca makes Libertador a really well-located option. The restaurant is also of a good standard as well as the views of course, which are the best you will get from any hotel in the area.
The rooms are comfortable, albeit it a little outdated, but as with the majority of the hotels in the area, it is more about the unique location, not the luxury and charm of the hotel. The hotel also has a small gym, a bar and an outdoor plunge pool for the fearless! All have these same sweeping views, which makes it a very desirable choice for accommodation, right in the middle of the lake.
Visit the floating islands, and go on a homestay on the lake and see how the locals live. This area is all about culture, and enjoying the great outdoors. It is also something a bit different, characterised by this hotel.
With few options in this area, it is certainly worth considering Libertador. We tend to suggest hotels away from the noisy centre that have views of the lake. This has both. The downside is that it is a large hotel and can feel busy at times. Treat it as a resting place after discovering the region as opposed to a luxury all singing, all dancing hotel.
