The 29-room hotel is an atmospheric and exciting hotel simply for its being so close to the entrance to Machu Picchu. The hotel is of a very good quality, but there are better options in the main town. The USP of this hotel does not lie in the high levels of luxury it may provide, but purely the location. For those willing to splash out knowing that they can wake up early and get to Machu Picchu before everyone else, it is a delicious prospect. Others reward themselves with a night here after the Inca Trail, as it provides a complete contrast from camping to relative luxury.
Unfortunately you are unable to see Machu Picchu from the hotel. However, there is a beautiful orchid garden and restaurant in which to relax.
Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge - Our opinion
If you don't want to look at the cost and are doing it for the experience, then fantastic. If you want value and are open to other options that are located 20 minutes away and leave your bank balance considerably larger, then speak to us!
