ILLA Experience located in the artistic and beautiful San Marcos district of Quito is a gorgeous boutique hotel. ILLA is a converted colonial mansion that has been meticulously restored with attention to detail at every stage and in keeping with the protected neighbourhood. There are ten spacious rooms spread out over the three floors that all represent three important historical periods in the city; the colonial, the republican and the contemporary. The luxurious rooms all have doors into the internal courtyard and rooms either open up out over the courtyard, views of the traditional street or the Pancillo hill of Quito.
The rooms come with all you will ever need. From the high quality L’Occitane toiletries to the options of pillow to ensure the comfiest of sleeps in the hotel. The amuse-bouche are a welcome sight after a day exploring before your evening meal!
Illa is all about the experience of the hotel and every afternoon one of the local artists or craftspeople come to the hotel to demonstrate their skill I the courtyard. Its an interactive experience that ranges from trying your skill at weaving a panama hat to making ice cream! It is a really interesting experience where you get to learn a little more about the area and meet some of the locals of San Marcos.
The hotel also has a small, yet adequately sized spa that can be pre booked. There is also a patio with comfortable arm chairs where you can enjoy a glass of wine overlooking the city.
