The green peninsula of Buzios, with its crystal clear waters and abundant trendy eateries, is easily accessible from Rio, just three hours away. Once a quiet fishing village, the small beaches now attract a buzzing crowd of foreign and local tourists.
Buzios - Things To Do
Around Buzios you will find a multitude of beaches - arguably some of the best in Brazil - with seas ranging from calm, crystal-clear snorkelling waters to more powerful rollers, ideal for surfers. This area has changed a lot since Bridgette Bardot retreated to Buzios in the 1960’s; in those days it was a tranquil fishing area, but now trendy bars and up-market boutique hotels litter this beach retreat favoured by urbanites to escape the hustle and bustle of Rio de Janiero. Our favourite places to stay are Casas Brancas and Insolito.
Buzios - Where to stay
There are so many options for good accommodation in Buzios. Hotel Insolito is located close to the peaceful waters of the Ferradura beach and is one of our favourite hotels as this stylish property is luxurious, super comfortable and has majestic views out over the bay of Buzios.
