Insolito is a beautiful Brazilian beach hotel that overlooks the Ferradura Beach in Buzios. Within easy reach of Rio makes this a firm favourite of ours.
Insolito feels very calm considering the location a short taxi away from the popular town of Buzios where you will find bars, restaurants and shops. Brazilian and international tourists flock here to take advantage of the local beaches, of which there are more than 25
This gorgeous hotel that has 24 rooms is located directly next to the sea on the beautiful and quieter Ferradura Bay (to reach the sea you will have to descend a few steps). Rooms are Brazilian themed in décor with furniture, artwork and furnishings locally produced and bespoke. Rooms are extremely comfortable. There are five different rooms categories and all, except Superior rooms, have sea views so we would not recommend those.
Being on a cliff means that the living and communal areas are spread out amongst many levels across the property which creates a private aura. Our favourite spot is down by the beach where there is a private area and a bar/snack shack. The hotel also boasts two pools with panoramic views over the bay.
The hotel owns two speed boats that can take you to nearby beaches or for the adrenaline junkie you can partake I some water sports. If something a little calmer sounds more appealing then there are also bicycles that you can explore the local area on available from reception for guests only.
