Hotel Santa Teresa MGallery by Sofitel is the best option away from the beaches and Ipanema and Copacabana. The hotel in the artistic neighbourhood of Rio is relaxed, comfortable and one of our favourites.
The Details
This 44 roomed hotel pays homage to Brazilian history and modern style throughout as the rooms have tiles made in Portugal, crats and furnishings made from reclaimed Amazonian wood from northern Brazil and sculptures and art work from Brazil and it’s influencers. This all creates a warm, modern and stylish feel to this hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the beaches.
This new concept by the successful Sofitel Group is a chic offering and the best rooms are those that look out over the city to Guanabara Bay or Christ the Redeemer. The hotel has a lush outside pool and one of Rio’s best restaurants. The restaurant is an eclectic mix of Brazilian, Mediterranean and Asian flavours and is managed by Damien Montecer.
Our opinion
We really think this hotel is great for those that are returning to Rio for a second time, are splitting their time in Rio at the beginning and end of their trip and for those that are not overly beachy. Hotel Santa Teresa is chic Brazilian luxury in a good neighbourhood of Brazil.
