The Hebridean Sky, (formerly the Sea Explorer), is one of our favourite, small luxury expedition ships. This ship provided high levels of comfort and fantastic guiding, ensuring that you love your time on this beautiful boat.
Hebridean Sky - The Details
The Hebridean Sky can take up to 112 guests, and with various excursion offers it means that all guests can visit the landing sites at the same time in small groups led by the guides.
The style of the boat is very comfortable, with carpets throughout, lots of comfy seating areas and spacious cabins. This boat recently underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment, and it is gorgeous. While on board you can enjoy the library, the calming lounge and the bar area with huge panoramic windows or even enjoy the views from the comforts of the outdoor sundeck. You are also given your own Hebridean Sky jacket to keep!
All standard cabins are en-suite and come complete with exterior views, flat screens, marble finished bathrooms, sofa, twin or double beds, a mini bar, telephone and at a minimum are 225 sq.ft in size. Other cabin options include the Owners Cabin (385 sq. ft), a penthouse (325 sq. ft) and a veranda (260 sq. ft). These upgraded rooms all have nespresso machines, private balconies, complimentary mini bar and a $100 credit card for the gift shop.
Aside from this being a truly fantastic vessel, the best thing about the Hebridean Sky is the guiding and camaraderie created by all the team. The team only get together for the Antarctica season, and have all previously being highly respected members of a leading Polar expedition company. They now do this for the love, passion and desire to share the knowledge of how to run the best expeditions. The CEO, (John), is often on the ship, getting stuck in and ensuring that expectations are exceeded.
